It was noted recently that several planks on the Sunbury Footbridge are rotten and unsound. These have now been reported to the Council and will be repaired.
As for the Damside Footbridge in Dean Village which has been closed now for several months, repair works are presently out to tender and all things being equal the bridge should be repaired in the Spring.
Hal Osler said, “It is so important that we get this vital green/blue corridor opened up and accessible again. As many will know a landslip upstream from the weir, has left a section closed for over eight years.
"Now a planning application has been submitted for the repair and reinstatement of the damaged path and I am hopeful that 2021 will finally see this section fully open and passable again, it has been closed far too long.”
