Telford Road Works

Major carriageway and improvements works are due to take place on Telford Road, starting on Monday 4th April and lasting for around 20 weeks.

The works comprise of the replacement of the traffic signals at the junction of Telford Road/Groathill Avenue, the replacement of the signal crossing west of the entrance to the Western General Hospital, footway and carriageway resurfacing, kerb re-setting, uncontrolled pedestrian crossing improvements and street furniture renewal. In addition, several existing lighting columns will also be replaced.

Hal Osler said,  “I am really pleased that these works are happening as these improvements are really needed to improve road safety in the area.

"However I appreciate this will have a knock-on impact to traffic in and around the area and may add to the problems already caused by the continued closure of Craigleith Road. If there are particular concerns with how the works are proceeding please let me know.”
