Inverleith ward

Councillor Hal Osler

Inverleith

Hal Osler was first elected as councillor for Inverleith in 2017.

Hal's priorities for Inverleith are:

  • A review of community policing so that there is more presence at a local level to address residents' concerns.
  • Supporting 20mph speed limits and a reduction of traffic on residential streets to reduce noise and increase safety
  • More repairs and upgrades of recycling bins
  • Getting roads and pavements fixed properly the first time and ensure that there is proper investment in improving the poor state of road surfaces.
  • Reviewing the present parking tariff structure, so that more residents who pay for their parking permits can actually access a parking space while ensuring adequate pay and display provision.

Blue Bridge Repair

2 Feb 2023

Users of the Water of Leith walkway will know that presently there is no access over the blue bridge near the Britannia Hotel. Major damage to the base of the bridge happened during the heavy rains on the 30th December and it has been closed ever since.

Confirmation has now been had that a repair (weather permitting) should be taken around the middle of February.

Hal Osler said, "I have also asked if the remaining barriers left over from previous repairs in the surrounding area could also be removed at the same time and that has been agreed."
