St Andrew's RC Primary School has become the first school in Scotland to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Mark (gold status).
The mark is given to schools which show their commitment to taking lessons and teaching outside the classroom, and St Andrew's have been making use of Corstorphine Hill for this.
Ed Thornley said, "It's great to see schools really getting behind learning outside, and excellent that this has been rewarded locally. Outside learning is known to improve attainment and wellbeing, for both pupils and staff.
"We've all come to value our green spaces so much more in the last 18 months, it's so encouraging to see us carrying on valuing them as restrictions lift. Congratulations to both pupils and staff."
