As part of a plan to reduce commuter parking in South Gyle and improve access for walking and cycling to the Edinburgh Park businesses, the Council agreed on 1st October 2020 to pursue a number of changes.
These include the removal of parking on South Gyle Crescent, changes to South Gyle Crescent and South Gyle Access (as well as Bankhead Avenue) and the introduction of a residents' Priority Parking Area in all of Gogarloch and large parts of South Gyle.
Despite a very mixed reaction from residents to the proposals the Council administration agreed in October 2020 to go ahead with the legal process to implement this.
It needs a TRO (Traffic Regulation Order) and residents who wish to will be able to object as part of that process when it starts.
Many residents have asked what is happening about this and asked if the vacating of many of the buildings in Edinburgh Park has led to a rethink.
The council has confirmed that they intend to push ahead with the proposals with a view to starting towards the end of 2022.
