We the undersigned call on Edinburgh City Council to ensure continuity of service for the numbers 20, 63 and 68 bus services and to try and extend Lothian bus provision to the west of the city.
The number 68 bus is a vital service for people in Drum Brae, Clermiston and East Craigs. Following years of bus service cuts, the removal of the supported 68 would leave residents stranded.
The possible cancellation of the service could come into effect from 30th August.
Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine is working with local councillors Ed Thornley and Robert Aldridge and council officers to urgently find a solution for a continued bus service.
Local councillor Robert Aldridge, who fought to get the 68 service in place originally and to save it since, said, "This service is a lifeline, especially at a time when other bus services are being cut or moved away, such as the 41. We must save the 68 once again."
