Save Edinburgh’s Community Policing!

Police Scotland confirmed to Lib Dem Councillor Hal Osler in June 2019 that officers would be taken off patrols from areas such as Leith Walk to make up for their cut budget in the city centre.

The Edinburgh Liberal Democrats are demanding better and are calling for the reversal of the £512,000 cut to community policing budget.

Community Police Officers offer a vital service to our community and have been integral in identifying areas and streets that have high anti-social behaviour incidents in them. They have also been integral in setting up initiatives such as helping restart the Friends of Dalmeny Street Park Group.
