Over 1000 local people have signed a petition run by the local Lib Dem team opposing plans for a new development of 500 houses at Cammo, just to the south of the development already under construction.
The petition has now been submitted to the Council’s planning department, with over a thousand signatures from local people, voicing resident’s concerns about the development’s impact on local roads infrastructure, services and greenbelt land.
Ed Thornley said, “It’s important that the Council listen to local people on issues like this. Our roads are already struggling, with both the Maybury and Barnton junctions straining under the pressure.
“To keep piling on more, with no plans to improve road capacity and without knowing the impact that unfinished ongoing developments will have, is completely illogical. The SNP/Labour administration needs to listen to local people, and reject this application.”
