Residents demand new bus to Balerno

Our survey has revealed a preference for extending the 25 bus to Balerno via Curriehill Station.

The Focus Team received a tremendous response to our recent transport survey. Armed with the results we are now campaigning to extend the 25 bus to Balerno as well as the improvements to car and cycle travel you requested.

Your leading concerns were about bus services, especially the lack of direct or indirect access to Edinburgh Park, South Gyle, Livingston and St. John's Hospital, and the infrequency of services in the evening and at the weekend.

The most popular proposal was the extension of the 25 bus to Balerno, which would connect residents with a train service to Edinburgh, Livingston and Glasgow, and with the park and ride which they could use to catch a second service to Livingston, South Gyle and Edinburgh Park.

Crucially, it would provide an alternative and direct route to the West End, City Centre and Leith, helping to relieve the extreme pressure on Lanark Road / Lanark Road West.
