Protect Queensferry's Countryside

Housing developers are pushing Edinburgh Council to turn over more countryside land at Queensferry for even more new housing.

This would be on land just to the west of the Echline roundabout and the Queensferry Crossing. It would come over and above the thousands of new homes already approved for the town at South Scotstoun, Builyeon Road and Ferrymuir.

Local Liberal Democrats have opposed new housing in Queensferry without proper services and infrastructure being put in place. We think it would be madness to turn over more local countryside for even more housing when we still don't know the true impact of the houses already approved.

Edinburgh Council will have to agree a new local development plan later this year. This will decide what areas are kept protected in the countryside and which are released for new homes.

We think it is critical this area of Queensferry is kept designated as countryside. Please sign our petition below to add your support to our campaign.
