There should be a walking & cycling route between Pilrig and Meadowbank

Powderhall Path should get back 'on track' and connect Saint Marks Park to Leith and East Edinburgh.

After it was recently published that the 'Spaces for People' programme led to delays to a potential walking and cycling path being implemented in place of the abandoned Powderhall Railway Line, Leith Walk lead campaigner Jack Caldwell said

"The abandoned Powderhall Railway could connect Meadowbank, Easter Road, Leith Walk and Pilrig to the North Edinburgh Path Network.

"For 16 years, campaigners in East Lothian have been asking for a path between Drem & Gullane.

"Councils are dragging their feet when it comes to shared cycle/walking routes during a climate emergency. Can you imagine if the Victorians were this hesitent in converting the North Edinburgh Path Network?"
