Polling Station at Blackhall Primary

Parents in Blackhall have expressed concern that Blackhall Primary School is being used as a polling station for the Scottish Elections in May.

The Lib Dem team have campaigned over a period of time for schools not to be used as polling stations due to the disruption it can cause.

A report on which schools still were planned for polling use, and whether alternative venues were available, was considered at Full Council in February. Based on that report, several schools were removed from the list of polling stations, but 18 remain earmarked for the election, and sadly Blackhall is one of them.

This is because unfortunately no other suitable venue was found within the area to replace it. This is regrettable but the Council has a duty to provide polling stations for all polling areas.
