Parking for south Morningside

At its meeting last Thursday, the Council’s Transport and Environment Committee considered what to do about parking in south Morningside.

It decided to proceed with the extensions of the B2 priority parking area (PPA) to the east, south and west and to delay consideration of a controlled parking zone (CPZ) until the full results of the city-wide review are available, potentially this autumn.  The views of residents, as expressed in my online survey, were evenly balanced between support for the PPA extension and a CPZ.  Given that I also heard from residents who oppose all forms of parking restrictions, I asked my Lib Dem Transport colleague to support the committee decision.
