Lib Dems on the Up in Leith Walk

The Scottish Liberal Democrats saw a doubling of their vote share in the Leith Walk ward by-election in April 2019, while Labour and the Conservatives both saw decreases.

The Scottish Liberal Democrats led the conversation during the campaign, raising challenges our area faces, such as the lack of social housing, dangerously uneven pavements and recycling bins which aren’t being emptied. Liberal Democrat candidate in the by-election, Jack Caldwell, said “We spoke to thousands of residents across Leith, Broughton, Abbeyhill, Pilrig, Hillside and Bonnington about what they want to see done for our community. “We heard loud and clear what people think about local issues and put forward our positive solutions such as a dedicated pavement repair fund, and improving the nplacement and collections of recycling bins. “I’ll continue to put the hours in for Leith Walk area and the Scottish Liberal Democrats will continue to champion the area for years to come and demand better”.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted Lib Dem in April!
