Lib Dems are the only party to vote for cleaner air on London Road, Ferry Road and Leith Walk

In a surpise turn of events, the Scottish Greens, Conservatives, SNP and Labour all teamed up to vote down the Lib Dem proposal for an Edinburgh-wide Low Emission Zone (LEZ) on January 27th's Transport and Envrionment committee at the City Chambers.

With high traffic levels on London Road (pictured), Easter Road, Ferry Road and Leith Walk, local candidate Jack Caldwell believes we must be more ambitious if we’re to improve local airquality.

The agreed, compromised city-centre LEZ will not even extend to York Place.
