An unusual spell of cold wintry weather brought snow and icy conditions to Edinburgh’s roads, pavements and pathways.
Council teams working extremely hard to grit set priority areas and a large number of residents gritting their own areas, but many key areas remained icy and hazardous for a number of days.
These included a significant number of roads and pavements as well as Inverleith Park and other vital green spaces and pathways.
Hal Osler said, “Thank you to all residents who helped out by gritting their local areas. I am very grateful. I reported a number of places to Officers that were not kept clear and asked that these be considered for gritting in future.
