Hal Osler said, “I have been working with many residents who have been severely impacted by severe rains yet again this summer.
"It has been heartbreaking for those affected to recover and return home, only to be flooded out all over again, as the root causes simply are not being dealt with by Scottish Water or the Council.
"This summer I called upon the SNP/Labour Council Administration to seek adequate funding from the Scottish Government to deliver flood protection. Resident groups including from Blackhall, Craigleith, Drylaw, Inverleith and Stockbridge submitted powerful deputations and some even came to speak for the motion.
"I am incredibly grateful to them for shining a light on the truly horrific human cost of flooding and their testimonies went a long way in getting this motion passed. It is a small but significant step forward and I will keep pushing for resolutions because this is what residents need and deserve.”
