A few months ago Hal met with the manager of Sainsbury’s at Craigleith Retail Park to discuss road safety and accessibility of the Retail Park as over the years there have been concerns raised by residents.
Hal said, "A discussion took place regarding the pedestrian access by the play park and how it could be improved so that pedestrians and cyclists could access Sainsbury’s quicker and more safely. Also there had been a number of adverse comments regarding the roundabout and a few near misses due to faded road markings.
"I am delighted to say that some improvements have now been made with foliage cut back around the Retail Park and the line painting has been refreshed so the roundabout is clear. We are still waiting for upgrades to pedestrian and cycle movements but these will take longer as they need to be agreed with the Sainsbury’s head office."
