City of Edinburgh Council's new draft mobility strategy was published at the start of the year, and while many of it's aims are desirable, there are some gaping holes concerning exactly how these aims are to be acheived.

We need common sense management of busking in the City Centre. I'm calling for action from Edinburgh Council to manage busking in the City's tourist hot spots.

The council has announced that Leith Street, the main route from Leith Walk to the Bridges and Princes Street, is to be <a href="http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/our-region/edinburgh/leith-street-to-be-shut-for-10-months-as-part-of-st-james-revamp-1-4380237">completely shut to traffic for several months from September</a>.

Ediburgh's streets are a mess, with refuse overflowing from communal bins. The council needs to fundamentally improve refuse collection and recycling.

We're aware of the problem of increasing numbers of whole properties being let short through outlets such as AirBnB. Some lets are causing considerable nuisance to residents - and this particularly affects the city centre.
