Blackhall Library February Update

A report has been presented to the January Culture and Communities Committee setting out the next phase of planned library re-opening. Prior to the current lockdown two phases were completed, seeing 10 of the City’s 28 libraries reopened.

Sadly however, a requirement for remedial works meant that Blackhall Library has remained closed.

Now, resource availability and Covid restrictions permitting, the indicative date of 29th March has been set for the reopening of Blackhall and another 3 libraries.

Hal Osler said, “Thank you to everyone who has written to me about the library and how much it means to you. I have been in regular correspondence with senior management pushing to have the works done and the library reopened as soon as it can be. I am so delighted by this news as I know how much it means to the community.”
