There has been further progress with Blackhall Community Trust’s plans for a proposed nursery extension in Ravelston Park.
In April 2021 the Court of Session approved an application by the Council to overturn common good land status.
This legal step followed March 2019 approval in principle of the Council’s Finance and Resources Committee to transfer land to the Trust, and Council consultation in August and September 2019.
As regards the concerns of some residents over the proposed development, so far nothing has been submitted to Planning and there will be an opportunity to make comment when it does. The Council understands that the Trust will work with sporting groups in Ravelston Park to allow sports to continue. Completion of the land transfer will require the Trust to have funding in place and future transfer of the land is restricted to ensure it is used for the benefit of local residents.
