You may have seen recent articles about a proposal to develop the ice-rink in Roseburn Park, a listed building as well as a much-loved resource.
Former Councillor Phil Wheeler, a keen curler, said "Any proposal to close the Murrayfield curling rink would not be welcome to the curling community. It is the only such facility in the Edinburgh area, and is much used every day all through the season in the daytime and evenings. Its operator, the Edinburgh Curling Club, does not seem to be aware of any threat to its continuation, since it has recently appealed to all local curlers seeking to raise the six-figure sum required to fund a much-needed modernisation project."
Together with Phil and the rest of the Liberal Democrat team, I will be keeping a close eye on the progress of these proposals.
