    Dear Alan Beal

In this busy time leading up to the election, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you the best of luck with your canvassing and campaign.

High on my list of concerns is the persecution of peaceful Falun Gong in China, and the barbaric practice of forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience. As a local constituent, I am interested to know my electoral candidates’ views on this matter, whether they support efforts to raise awareness and what they can do to help bring to an end what will be 18 years of persecution on July 20th 2017.

Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) is a traditional Chinese self-cultivation practice of mind and body, based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Today, it is estimated that over 100 million people from all walks of life in over 100 countries cherish this practice that has brought them profound health benefits, and mental and spiritual wellbeing.

Yet in Mainland China, Falun Gong practitioners are arrested and tortured in prisons, black jails, labour camps, and secret detention facilities for refusing to renounce their faith. Many thousands have died as a result of this torture.

Furthermore, a June 2016 report “Bloody Harvest/The Slaughter: An Update” [endorganpillaging.org] by international investigators, concluded that Falun Gong practitioners have been killed on demand to fuel the country’s lucrative transplantation industry. It finds that, even based on minimum government-imposed capacity requirements of the transplant centres, the industry could have performed over one million transplants since 2000.

In particular, I hope you can take the time to review the short 20-minute documentary on the China Organ Harvest home page, which provides a succinct overview of the issue of forced organ harvesting. Further accompanying information can be downloaded from the top of the homepage.

When matters like this are brought to light, our actions are what count. I hope that the UK government and all politicians will continue to take a stance against the persecution and forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong, and that you can play your part in helping to end this crime against humanity. Your added voice will support Falun Gong practitioners in China, who continue to stand up to evil despite the grave situation they face. Your actions will make a difference and send a clear and powerful message to the world that politicians in the UK, as voices of the people, uphold human rights, the principles of kindness and justice and freedom of belief.

    Yours sincerely,

    Rosemary Byfield

Alan, I am considering who I shall cast my vote to on 8th June. As a college lecturer I find myself caught up in the failure of Scotlands colleges managers to #honourthedeal they agreed and signed in March 2016. The document is available for scrutiny on the EIS website.

I am also a 1950’s woman also caught up in the changes to pensions which adversely affect my retirement.

My question is simple, what would you do to assist me in the two above issues where I to give you my vote?

    Marie
